dsc_041111111222222222.JPGProfessor Ricardo Guimaraes visits Gracie Barra Corona!
We were very excited to have Professor Ricardo visit our Academy for the first time! It was a great seminar and he showed us a bunch of very effective techniques. We will be reviewing them for the next few weeks, if we can remember them all! It was also good to see our long time training partners, Purple Belts Manny and Alex. Thanks to everyone for coming and thanks to Professor Ricardo for taking the time to come teach and roll with us!

Congratulations to the New Blue Belts!

Last week, Paul Figueroa and Noel Murillo received their blue belts. Both these guys are very accomplished grapplers and great competitors. They are valuable additions to the team and contribute strongly to our family environment and lifestyle at Gracie Barra.

CONGRATULATIONS TO COPA PACIFICA COMPETITORS

Noel won the Gold in the Men’s Super Heavy Bracket last Saturday!!

Joe Mendoza (Rickson Gracie student), who is able to train at our school part time, defended his title at the Copa. He took first place again in his weight in the Masters Division.

The competitors deserve recognition for their hard training and commitment to participate in  these sportive challenges.  They exemplify the practical application of training that we all learn in class.

Pictures are coming-

Good Luck to Noel in the Copa this weekend!

One of the great benefits of training at a Gracie Barra school is that you can travel anywhere and visit other schools. There are over 200 affiliated schools. This is a great way to have fun, train while you are on the road, and make friends all over the world!! Last week, Jason was welcomed at the Gracie Barra Chicago school and so we thank them for taking care of one of our first students. Thanks guys.

Congrats to Noel, he was bumped up to the super super after cutting weight to make super and fought 4 hard bouts with 2 submissions by arm bar for 4th place

Noel is competing this weekend!Good luck and have a great time! We are so proud you are representing Gracie Barra Corona. Thanks!
